THE RISE
MAYLANDS
let's Walk for mental health research
Rotarians and Rotaractors from across WA will come together with the local Maylands community on our Rotary Action Day. This will start with a LIFT THE LID WALK for Mental Health. This event is co-hosted by Rotary WA, your ARH WA team, and the new Maylands Rotary.
Where:
The Rise Maylands (28 Eighth Avenue, Maylands WA) and surrounds
Who:
Everyone who has been impacted by or cares about Mental Health.
Get your teams together now to support world-class ARH research.
Why:
These walks are a great way to spread awareness of the 1 in 5 Australians across our local
communities who currently experience some form of mental health challenge,
and the 1 in 2 who may do so in their lifetime. Help us Lift the Lid on Mental Illness
this autumn by walking with us! Proceeds help fund crucial pre-teen health research!
What:
A Walk NOT a race. It is a family-friendly occasion offering an organised “fun” event, the chance to chat, get some exercise and fresh air! Enjoy a quiet suburban/residential walk, and talk with others about mental and physical health.
Route Options:
Walkers will be able to choose from two options down to the Swan River and back:
Afterwards, visit Delivering Hope, an interactive expo of Rotary programs,
and then explore Maylands town centre.
Please note: These walks will take place on public footpaths in low traffic areas around
residential streets and parks. Regrettably, these particular walks may not be suitable for
those with serious mobility challenges.
Entry:
Adults $30 contribution to pre-teen mental health research (early bird registration includes a cap).
Kids under 15 walk FREE
Enter yourself, or your family, club, organisation or work team.
Rotarians or other people unable to walk can sponsor others in the community who can.
Early-bird adult registrations before 28 March will receive a FREE cap
Caps for kids can be purchased via the ticket site.
Latecomers will be welcome to register online until Friday 12 April, but caps may not be available.
On the day walkers are welcomed via cash contribution on the day.
All proceeds go into pre-teen mental health research through
Please Note : Refunds cannot be provided and all walkers walk at their own risk.

Support your community, break down the barriers and stigma associated with mental illness and
help raise funds for mental health research. Today's research is tomorrow's prevention, or early
detection and treatment.
What to Bring:
On the day, participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles, wear club or team shirts, a great hat and weather appropriate gear, and (of course) comfortable walking shoes!
